- Bangalore
Famous name Wipro’s Azim Premji.
Local salaries Between $5,600 and $7,500 a year for an entry-level software engineer.
- London
Famous names Amstrad’s Sir Alan Sugar, Virgin Group’s Sir Richard Branson.
Local salaries Graduate software engineer: $53,000.
- Tokyo
Famous names Softbank’s Masayoshi Son, Nintendo designer and Wii mastermind Shigeru Miyamoto.
Local salaries Software engineer: between $49,000 and $69,600.
- Boston
Famous names W3’s Sir Tim Berners-Lee, Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg (even if he went west).
Local salaries Software engineer $61,000.
